1. What is Rugby Indiana?
Rugby Indiana is the state governing body for youth and high school rugby throughout the state of Indiana. Their responsibilities include player safety, making sure that all teams within the state are in compliance with USA Rugby, (the governing body for the sport of rugby across the country), and growing the game in communities across Indiana. In addition Rugby Indiana hosts the state championship, creates the schedule, and schedules referees for each match.
2. Why are there two separate fees?
Brownsburg Rugby Club have dues to pay for things specific to our club including, but not limited to socks, shorts, and purchasing and storing rugby equipment. Rugby Indiana uses the proceeds from their dues to cover all matches, including playoffs and finals, referees, RI administration, etc. In addition, fees vary based on the division that your player is in. High school players will almost always higher fees than middle and grade school players due to the fact that they play more matches.
3. Is Brownsburg Rugby considered a school sport?
No, we are not currently affiliated with the Brownsburg Community School Corporation. We are a self funded club that depends on club dues and the kindness of the community's donations.
